There are many reasons and more information why you should consider a sugar glider as your pet of choice. First of all, a sugar glider does not belong to the class of rodents. Rodents like chewing on items hence they can be destructive. This is not the case with sugar gliders hence they will not chew on things now and then. Apart from that, the sugar glider is a clean animal. They like grooming themselves and stay clean at all times. You therefore do not need to wash them the way you have to wash other pets such as dogs.

Cleanliness of the sugar glider is the main reason that they produce no smell. The lack of smell makes them ideal as companions in living rooms. On living in the main rooms, the sugar glider is very friendly. It will adapt to the environment and bond well with the people around the household. You can even take them for a walk outside once they have become accustomed to you. They also bond well with other pets such as cats and dogs.

Unlike other pets that require a lot of attention at all times, sugar gliders require minimal attention. These marsupials are nocturnal hence they will always be sleeping during the day. This is important since during the day most people are usually at work. Their nocturnal activities are also not very noisy hence you can enjoy your night’s rest while your pet has fun.

Sugar gliders are not expensive to maintain when it comes to feeding. They feed mainly on a diet of fruits and vegetables. The fact that they are very small, measuring about 5-7 inches means that their food ration is small. You actually require about three dollars per month to feed the sugar glider. The small size also means that the cage you build for them can be small and it would still provide an ideal home for the glider. If you area allergic to pets then you are in good company with the glider for it does not release an allergens.
